Kiddie humor rag, MAD Magazine, indoctrinates pre-teens to think of Hillary Clinton as a liar and a phony in the latest issue. “My Little Phony: Hillary’s Most Unbelievable Adventure Yet,” features Hillary (in cartoon horse form) being dragged for her Goldman Sachs speeches, deleted e-mails, $600 haircuts, and even Bill’s indiscretions. Of course, the magazine has been taking potshots at BOTH candidates fora while now, as can be expected. I just kind of think the “My Little Phony” bit was slightly more partisan, and not really kiddie humor at all…

Brian Anderson was once one od of THE best and most successful professional skateboarders and he’s just come out publicly as gay in a new segment on Vice.

In the piece about Anderson, they talk with other skaters and colleagues. Anderson said he doesn’t recall a single negative reaction to his coming out from anyone in his sport which came as a surprise because he heard anti-gay language and gay slurs from skaters over the years.

Anderson says he most definitely NOT “into” skateboarders. He said he knew he was gay as a kid when he was fascinated by men in beards, like Popeye’s Bluto. He still digs the Bluto-type today.

“I think of how I felt when I was younger, totally scared. A lot of these kids who don’t have hope are really scared to death. To hear what I went through, and that everything got better for me, and I got a lot happier and felt more free and didn’t have all this shame buried in my body, you become a happier person. So to convey that message is really important to me.”

First of all, let’s just get this out of the way: I loooooooove Nico Tortorella. I love the way he lives his life. I love his fearlessness, his exuberance, and by God, you know what? He IS too good-looking. Too good-looking by FAR. If anyone else ever dared to say such a thing, I would mercilessly mock them until the end of time. However, in an interview with Elle.com (entitled “Want to Know What It’s Like to Be Too Good-Looking? Ask Nico Tortorella”) the Younger star is asked – point blank – how he feels about being objectified for his looks. His answer is both fascinating and refreshing.

“I know I have to play into it to a certain extent,” he tells the magazine. “If I have to be objectified in my twenties to be taken seriously in my thirties, I’m doing something right.”

Yeah. That’s pretty self-aware. And it sounds like Hollywood in a nutshell, doesn’t it?

He continues:

ELLE: Was [being objectified] part of the job, something you were aware of as you got into acting?
NICO: As long as my work continues to speak for itself outside of what I look like, I’m okay. This is going to sound obnoxious, but I get told I’m too good-looking for a lot of roles. They don’t write roles people would think I’m supposed to play as often as they used to—the rom-com pretty-boy storylines. Movies are thankfully about real people nowadays, and I don’t necessarily always look like a real person.

You seem pretty aware of how you you’re presented.
One hundred percent. I wear my heart on my sleeve and live my life as openly and honestly as I can.

He then opens up about his much-discussed gender fluidity:

“Look, a lot of people don’t think that the way that I live my life is a real thing, that it exists, that having a broad spectrum of sexual orientation is even possible. I get told all the time on social media. God forbid you open up a Reddit article. But it comes with it, you know? I’m not trying to redefine sexuality or humanity or say that my answer is right and yours is wrong. I’m just happy with who I am. I am driven by love and I have been in love with a handful of different people, men and women. It’s like, if you go to a bookstore and you know exactly what kind of book you want, you have to look it up in the system because it’s in a specific section of the bookstore. I fit into a handful of sections in the bookstore.”

Some people believe that a bi or pansexual relationship can’t be monogamous. You’re dating a woman right now. Do you believe in monogamy?
I believe in it. I am not ruled by sex. I never have been. I’m not looking to fuck all the time. I am more interested in the ability to have intimate relationships with people on an emotional level.

What’s been the industry’s attitude toward your “coming out?” Because Hollywood is notoriously—
Run by a bunch of old white dudes who say anything other than heteronormative is blasphemy? That is still sadly the case, but I had hours and hours of conversation with my entire team about how I was going to handle this, because I refused from the beginning to restrict myself to any sort of lifestyle. I think as long as you come at it from a place of positive passion, it sets the right example. And I do think it’s gotten better for actors who want to be out or open in their careers. I think—I hope—we are moving toward a tipping point.

Wonder Woman, the demigoddess daughter of an Amazonian queen and the Greek God Zeus, has had a long and storied love affair with Colonel Steve Trevor, the man she has loved since he washed ashore on Paradise Island sometime in the 1940s. And for most of that time, it’s been assumed that he was her first love. Not so fast, though, says current series writer Greg Rucka.

As part of her series relaunch, and with a storyline that goes back and forth between her past and present, we learn that Diana had multiple relationships with women on the island before leaving for America with Steve. Well, OF COURSE she did. There’s no way that place wasn’t a hotbed of Sapphic intrigue.

Earlier in the issue, it’s hinted that she had a relationship with fellow Amazon Kasia…

In an interview on Comicosity (via Jezebel), Rucka talks about the queer narrative for Wonder Woman, saying that the version he’s crafting is one that’s been with women in a place that had no label for such a thing:

…This is inherently the problem with Diana: we’ve had a long history of people — for a variety of reasons, including sometimes pure titillation, which I think is the worst reason — say, “Ooo. Look. It’s the Amazons. They’re gay!”

And when you start to think about giving the concept of Themyscira its due, the answer is, “How can they not all be in same sex relationships?” Right? It makes no logical sense otherwise.

It’s supposed to be paradise. You’re supposed to be able to live happily. You’re supposed to be able — in a context where one can live happily, and part of what an individual needs for that happiness is to have a partner — to have a fulfilling, romantic and sexual relationship. And the only options are women.

But an Amazon doesn’t look at another Amazon and say, “You’re gay.” They don’t. The concept doesn’t exist.

Now, are we saying Diana has been in love and had relationships with other women? As Nicola and I approach it, the answer is obviously yes.

And it needs to be yes for a number of reasons. But perhaps foremost among them is, if no, then she leaves paradise only because of a potential romantic relationship with Steve [Trevor]. And that diminishes her character. It would hurt the character and take away her heroism.

When we talk about agency of characters in 2016, Diana deciding to leave her home forever — which is what she believes she’s doing — if she does that because she’s fallen for a guy, I believe that diminishes her heroism.

She doesn’t leave because of Steve. She leaves because she wants to see the world and somebody must go and do this thing. And she has resolved it must be her to make this sacrifice.

“Sometimes, the simple, straightforward act of being who you are comes at a price”, says Gonzales, a model at Slay Models- the first all transgender agency. “A price that’s steeper than having to defend that cherished collection of Vanilla Ice CDs or your ongoing love affair with Sex & the City.”

More Than Temporary: A collaboration with San Francisco-based artist Chris Turner, “More Than Temporary” tells the story of those that tend to be the most overlooked in our own community: LGBT seniors. Through the eyes of a young man, falling in love for the first time, we see the beauty and strength of those that have come before us. Those that have endured discrimination and fought for the rights we take for granted today. “More than Temporary” aims to show people around the world that the LGBT community is home to many vibrant and long-lasting relationships and prove that our love stories are just as inspirational, if not more so, as any others. We are slated to shoot the video in San Francisco at the end of October 2016.

The Thing About Love: This is my most ambitious video yet! It will be a unique “choose your own adventure” style video, where viewers customize the video by selecting the characters, settings, and scenes as they search for love. “The Thing About Love” will highlight the sameness in everyone’s search for love—regardless of age, race, gender, or orientation. When news broke on Wednesday that the younger Knowles sister would be dropping her full length studio album “A Seat At The Table” on Friday, the internet celebrated the fashion and music queen. We haven’t had new tunes from the “Losing You” star since 2012 with her True EP. After she dropped the track list and several stunning visuals, she shared a video of her dancing with a caption self-describing her as “a bootleg choreographer.” Well young Cece recreated the dance and it’s as adorable as you would think.

Earlier this week, Hamilton cast members Sasha Hollinger, Okieriete “Oak” Onaodowan, Syndee Winters, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Rory O’Malley, Mandy Gonzalez and Tanairi Sade Vazquez set up shop outside the Richard Rodgers Theatre to help fans register to vote. The cast members were trained in the registration process by members of the Hispanic Federation, an organization providing community services to the Hispanic community in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. The cast will be at it again on October 1 between 5:00 and 7:00 PM, retaking their spot outside of the theatre. National registration forms will be provided, allowing people from any U.S. state to register.
